That's right ALOHA, friends. Turns out there is a little radio station on the islands that has put Opie Hendrix in regular rotation. Hey ya'll...Nominations are now being taken for the TEXAS MUSIC AWARDS. Nominate OPIE at www.texasmusicawrds.org! The nominating period ends January 15, 2008.

Here's the info on the nomination process from their website:

Nominations
Nominations are made through the Texas Music Awards website.
www.TexasMusicAwards.org

Nominations may be submitted by anyone with Internet access.
Multiple methods are used to prevent abuse. IP capturing, cookie blocking, etc. are used.
Duplicates are discarded and abusers are blocked from the system.

The nominations are tabulated and the process continues:
- those receiving nominations are ranked by number of nominations received
- each potential nominee is checked for eligibility beginning with the top recipient
- each potential nominee is matched to the criteria for each specific award
- nominees who more closely match award criteria may receive additional consideration
- when five nominees matching the criteria are deemed eligible, the nominations are set
- if less than five nominees are deemed eligible, the MTM A&R committee will fill the remaining nominations

Opie Hendrix is back from an amazingly wonderful road trip. Thanksgiving dinner was splendid. Thanks, Mom & Dad! We now have an Official Opie Hendrix HQ in Indianapolis, Indiana. We had such a good time @ the Tip Top Tavern located in beautiful downtown Indy, that we've booked dates at the venue through the rest of next year. Thank you, Larry Ann, Carrie Ann & A.J.! Back @ Louisville HQ...our friends @ the Third Base Tavern got a good dose of Opie's "brand new" stomp box, wild mic-stand slide mandolin riffs and an oh, so rare drum duet. Minds and speakers were blown that night. Thank you Rick, Lip & Keith! We'll see all of you in April...
